Most of you know, that first and foremost, before being a Wedding Photographer, I am a mom. To tell the truth, I firmly believe that being a mother of two very “full of personality” boys has given me the added advantage of patience and endurance for this wonderful job I do. Still, nothing can prepare you for the right of passage that is the, end of the year, first grade field trip. Twelve hour days with only a twenty minute break, lost jewelry, wrong bouquets, shoes to small, dress that won’t zip, zippers that break, bad food, and a thousand other small details that can go wrong on a wedding day do nothing to prepare one for this.
It seems to always be at a Zoo. I think or highly suspect there is a reason for this that goes much deeper than this age group loves animals. What is in a Zoo? Wild animals. What shows up on a bus to go in and view these animals? Children whose energy level, whose sheer bright eyed, slightly crazy, adrenaline fueled excitability leaves you wondering if the animals there at the Zoo are in cages to protect us from them, or them from the wild animals we bring to see them.
In all the heat, the chaos, the long train lines, the smell of pooh {and no I don’t mean Winnie either} the screaming, running, jumping for joy children, you have to stop and smile just a little. It is a right of passage, it is the memories that are made there, no matter if a single animal actually gets seen. We all know that years later, when we think back, it is always the smiles, crazy faces, and the sweet tiny moments in the middle of the sea of craziness that makes it all special, all worth it. So who cares if it is a crazy day at the Zoo, or if there is work waiting, or if your pretty sure the day may feel a little torturous at moments, go, get out there and do something. You will never make a memory by waiting on it to come to you.
Time is a precious thing. Never waste it and never be scared to feed the animals every once in a while. They don’t always bite. On occasion, they have been known to hug you and actually say “Thanks” or in my son’s style, mid yell over the cool snakes his Meme got him.

I am a Wedding & Lifestyle photographer, Spider hater, hot tea drinker, sarcasm loving, mom of two boys, and center of my sexy hubby’s world. I truly believe there is no better job than to capture the memories of the most special times in a client’s life. I believe in passion, in love, in forever lasting romance, in hope, in joy, and in laughing until you almost pee yourself, because laughter heals the heart. I believe the glass is half full…and even if it really is half empty, I’d rather not know. I choose a smile over a frown, tears of joy over tears of sorrow, and I believe that brokenness makes your stronger, not weaker, so take the negative life may throw your way, and turn it into the stepping block you need to climb higher in life, always keep yourself at the higher level instead of lowering yourself down to the level of others.
I service all of Louisiana including, Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, Carlyss, Eunice, Alexandria, Shreveport, Lafayette, New Orleans, Monroe, and Natchitoches. Serving all of Texas including, Beaumont, Dallas, Huston, and Orange Texas. Serving Mississippi and Alabama.
