New Orleans gorgeous Roosevelt Hotel, The Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church, & The Blue Room at the Roosevelt were the stunning backdrops for Melinda & Mike’s wedding day. A day which started with a big bump in the road. The ceremony was planned for 2PM and the city had plans at 2:30PM to demo the crane on the top of the Hard Rock Hotel. The city was shut down for blocks around the Hard Rock and The Roosevelt Hotel and church were just blocks away. The officials were straight and told us all that if we were not in the hotel by 2:30PM, they were going to lock us in the church until the debris field cleared the air. Talk about feeling the stress.
Melinda & Mike moved through the day handling the stress and unknown like champs. The sun decided to shine and at the last minute, the city moved the demolition to the following day. Talk about thanking God for shining on us all.
I remember thinking how gorgeous the Roosevelt looked with out all the cars and tourist milling around in front of it. Like it was a once in a lifetime chance to see it look so serene. Melinda looked stunning in her gorgeous mermaid style gown. The bridesmaids and groomsmen rocked their dark blue dresses and suits.
After the sweet intimate ceremony, Melinda & Mike made their first purchase as husband and wife at the bookstore down the street and began their book collection for their future children. What a beautiful moment indeed. It was truly an honor to capture it for them. Then they were off back to the Roosevelt to attend the reception at The Blue Room. The amazing staff of the Roosevelt met them at the door with glasses of champagne and well wishes. I love when a venue has amazing staff that truly seems to care for their clients!!! Amazing food, family, friends, and loads of laughs and honored moments followed as the night went on.
A table set to honor the fallen soldier who was Mike’s dear friend and the other fallen service men. Since today is Memorial Day, I honor those who gave their lives so we can live ours with freedom and hope. It’ is a sacrifice to not be taken lightly or for granted.
Melinda & Mike,
It was truly an honor to capture your day, even with the craziness we all faced at first. I am so thankful God made a way and your wedding day turned out to be stress free and stunning. What a beautiful love you have and what a joy you are to simply be around. I pray you are blessed in every are of your lives and may your futures always be filled with joy and favor.
