People ask me all the time how awesome it is to have my life. While they are thinking about the traveling I get to do, the wonderful new people I meet and beautiful weddings I get to shoot, in my minds eye, the mountain of clothes in my laundry room comes to mind, and I think…….well……to be honest, it’s not so easy living in a house of boys. I get it though, a lot of my work life is fun and exciting, but 90% of it is hard, grueling work, I just choose to find a way to enjoy it.
So in the middle of the week, here are a few things about the real life me that you may find funny, weird, totally understand, or just go WHAT?
~ I still hate spiders and last month at my mom and dad’s I face off with one. A big one. I won. I totally did. I yelled “MOMMMMAAAAAAAA”, and she saved me. Totally, because even when your child is 32, when they yell, you run. Mom, your my super hero. Love you.
~ in my laundry room there are around 300 dollars worth of bins and shelving to help keep the clothes sorted. Each labeled and in its on special spot……..what doesn’t make sense is that exactly 1 foot in front of this wonderful work of art is a 4 foot high pile of dirty clothes. We are at an impasse. I refuse to wash unless they sort, and they refuse to sort unless I fuss, and frankly, I am to tired to fuss this week……..don’t worry, I am so going to pull the “it’s Mother’s Day this month card” Absolutely.
~ I have a new pet. He is a chihuahua named Coco. Yes, you read that right, he is a boy dog with a girl name. He also squats to pee. So basically, he is weird, which makes him kind of perfect for this crazy family.
~ I keep the dishwasher tab box in the kitchen window. My dad always looks at it funny because it looks out of place, but I have a deep rooted fear that I will run out, so I have to always know what the level is. Or I can’t sleep. Seriously.
~ I sometimes turn the batteries in the Wii remotes around backwards so they can’t play because the batteries are “dead”. I am so wrong. I know. I just hope in the future they never turn the batteries around on say, my oxygen tank or something, to repay the favor. #mustwatchbacklateinlife
~ I love to wait until Joe’s alarm goes off and he dozes back off then yell, “Joe your gonna be late.” I need counseling.
~ I love to cook. My family loves it when I cook. None of us however love to clean afterwards so we have all become pros at rock, paper, scissors. Best out of 3….or 5…or 9…or wait, isn’t this why we had kids- Joe’s answer to everything.
~ I have been journaling through my emotional and mental feelings toward losing weight and believing I deserve to lose weight. I now need more journals. A lot more. Writing is a healing practice. If you have something your dealing with, just try it.
~ I also need more pens..so I can replace the ones Joe thinks he still has hidden in the bathroom cabinet. In my defense, I didn’t touch the M&M’s. I think that man is part chipmunk. Only he stores sweets for winter, not real food. He needs counseling also.
~ If your now wondering why he would hide pens, go to your local office supply store and purchase a pack of Zebra F402 black pens. Then you will so understand why we fight over them. No, they do not however improve terrible handwriting. Just trust me on that.
~ I am so ready for school to be out. I love and support all teachers……….I just don’t like sharing my great kids. Well, at least I think they are great but I proudly wear mommy glasses and own 3 extra pair.
~ I cannot take a shower with out the radio going. I tried. I totally forgot to rinse the conditioner out. Proof enough for me, so I turn it all the way up and sing along to “Ain’t No Sunshine” because some where inside I am a little bit of a blues singer. At least in my own little world I am.
~ I still have around 70 jars of Cab Apple Jelly and I am already planning for when the tree is loaded down again and they are ready to be picked and I can make more. I am a jelly making crazy lady. For real though, it is tiring but fun. Relaxing good work. I love it. By the way did I mention it’s my neighbors tree. They like the jelly and hate the fruit rotting in their yard. Win, win.
~ I sometimes say Chanel after calling Coco. I almost heard him say “that’s Mr. Coco to you, Lady” when he cocked his head and looked at me funny this morning.
and because I can’t talk about him with out introducing him to every one, here he is, Mr. Coco himself
Hope you all have a Happy Happy hump day.

I am a Wedding & Lifestyle photographer, Spider hater, hot tea drinker, sarcasm loving, mom of two boys, and center of my sexy hubby’s world. I truly believe there is no better job than to capture the memories of the most special times in a client’s life. I believe in passion, in love, in forever lasting romance, in hope, in joy, and in laughing until you almost pee yourself, because laughter heals the heart. I believe the glass is half full…and even if it really is half empty, I’d rather not know. I choose a smile over a frown, tears of joy over tears of sorrow, and I believe that brokenness makes your stronger, not weaker, so take the negative life may throw your way, and turn it into the stepping block you need to climb higher in life, always keep yourself at the higher level instead of lowering yourself down to the level of others.

Oh the thought of your laundry room makes me so jealous! I wish my laundry had that! But I totally understand your laundry dilemmas – since I work from home, I do all the laundry for my family but I flat out refuse to risk my life venturing into my sisters room (or should that be pig sty?) to find her laundry.
I am so stealing your wii remote idea the next time my cousins come over! They will come over and then not talk for the entire time because they’re too busy playing wii.
I have a chihuahua shitzu cross named Chanel, your Coco is so cute I think they’re destined to be pals haha.
I love your new addition, Coco. I never used to like chihuahua’s until I adopted Sadie-Lou. Unfortunately, I didn’t have her very long, and I still miss her dearly.
I LOVE your blogs. You always make me smie. You have such a way of describing things. You are one talented lady!!
Love the story about laundry.
I so LOVE to hear your comments about raising two boys! I have 2 also and I know there is never a dull moment! SO good to hear positive comments embracing even the crazy moments without complaint. You’re amamzing Suze. 😉
love the way you comment on the photos. gives us a deeper insight, not just visual
ahhh SUSU! And that is why we LOOOOOOVE YOU!!!! You always have a quirkiness to make light of any annoying situation! Thank you for filling me with laughter for today! =)
