The Desterhan House and grounds were a gorgeous backdrop for Michele and Jeffrey’s wedding and while the building holds beauty, it is the grounds with the amazing old moss-covered Oaks that held Michele’s eye. From the bouquets to the centerpieces and more, the day screamed of simple gorgeous elegance that simple stand the test of time. It is a style that will still be amazing generations to come.

When I met Michele and Jeffrey the first time for their engagement session, I remember how much we laughed. We had the most amazing time just strolling around the French Quarter and capturing some amazing images while also being goofy and a little nerdy. If you know me, then you know I am all about Dr. Who, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Game Of Thrones, and most things that scream “you’re a little weird but it’s all good ain’t it.” I actually own a Dr. Who Trench coat and a Harry Potter themed coat, I’m hard-core like that, lol. So of course when Michele read her letter from Jeffrey, I did not miss the reference to them now being House Lawrence, nor did I miss the beautiful elegant “Always” that adorned the top of the bride’s cake. Harry Potter, Snipe, and love. I won’t go into extreme detail in case you’re the one person on earth who may not have read the books, but suffice it to say, this couple is standing on all the best things as they walk into this life together officially as Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence.

What can I say besides you are amazing. I adore the way you are together. The quiet little conversations that only you can have, the laughs you exchange like you are the only ones in the room. The way you scanned the room to see where the other was while talking to guest. The way you simple love each other. It makes my job in every way a blessing. I pray you are always blessed beyond measure. That you are gifted a love story that never ends, never fades, that your children’s, children’s, children are still sharing so many years from now. You are a classic breathtaking black and white that is and will always be in vivid living color. Be blessed. Be amazing.
