“Do you even remember what color your computer is?”, he ask with a strange look of doubt on his face. My hubby doesn’t understand my need for the obsessive amount of post it notes that cover ever inch of the front of my office computer that is not a part of the actual screen. It’s my way of double checking myself, and it could be something super small, like “check the mail today” , or “remember to breath”. What can I say, it helps, those little reminders, those little colorful sheets of uber sticky glory.

I may have a slight crush on post it notes. I like them in all shapes, colors, sizes. They make me happy, happy, whoop whoop. Truth is, my brain can literally wake me up several times a night with ideas, thoughts, list, schedules, it doesn’t believe in breaks, vacations, or sleep…..ever. It’s like a unorganized, overwhelming, think fest of goodness, craziness, and jokes no one but me gets…………..of which I am not ashamed. For real. On the other hand, this intensely enthusiastic, passionate, excited thought process makes wedding days feel like a breeze. A breath of fresh air, a calm, pleasant experience in the middle of my life with my overzealous brain.

That is actually the part that makes most people think I am crazy. To most people a wedding day is the craziness, to me it’s the calm. It is funny how when you find the thing you love, the thing you where just meant to do, that life has already prepared you to handle it. If my brain was not always in overdrive, if I wasn’t married to a loving man with ADHD worse than mine, if I didn’t have 2 sons who both face either ADD or ADHD, then weddings might not be so calming to me. I might not could stand in the middle of the chaos of a wedding day smiling like I am never happier than when I am in the middle of the busy craziness that is this industry. Yet life laid a path that made me love my job, love what I do, and each time some one tells me when the wedding day is over, that my smile and patience was a breath of fresh air, I can feel blessed to know life allows me to do what I love. It makes my crazy, wake-up in the night, post it note obsessed, list loving, full speed ahead life totally worth it.

When my friend Lara posted this photo, I just had to share. This is what my brain is like on a daily bases………………..this on steroids most days. It sure keeps life interesting and makes my memories chock a block full of laughter. What is the saying? Oh, yes, “She who dies with the most amazing memories…..wins.” , so bring on the crazy chaos, the laughter, the fun, and do not under any circumstance forget the post it notes.Hope your life leaves you some fun crazy memories this week.
