It was just a simple box, wrapped in red and white striped paper, adorned with a bow.  The wrapping was a little off and she loved the fact that she knew he had wrapped it himself.

I could have shared beautiful images of Sarah and Blake from their amazing wedding tonight, but instead I am writing this post to share the beauty of their love. When Blake’s brother arrived carrying Sarah’s gift, I think at first she was a little worried because it was so big. You know that moment when you are silently comparing the gift you are giving to the one you are possible receiving………….for just a moment it haunted across her face. I think in that second though she remembered how much she is loved by Blake and she moved forward with opening her gift………..and if she was not completely assured of his affections, she quickly became reassured.

And of course who doesn’t love an amazon box……I was waiting with excitement…..I may love Amazon a little too much.  I think that Amazon box may have led us all to think it was just a simple sweet gift…….isn’t it a beautiful thing when what you least expect happens.

But inside that box unassuming  laid 2 Mead Journal notebooks. One in the traditional white and black, another in green. In that moment I knew this gift was going to be something more……..

A little note lead her to this page……..with a sweet message from her Boo, Blake, saying how happy he was that today he could call the love of his life, his wife.

Then came the realization that these journals……… they started in 2012…..over 4 years ago……written in Blake’s handwriting…….journal letters from him to her. Filled with moments, with memories, with love that grew.

Utterly swept away and almost disbelieving she turned pages and read snippets………….looking at dates and Blake’s gentle hand. I imagine that in that moment, the love she already felt grew even more.

I don’t think Blake will ever truly understand what a beautiful gift her gave his new wife today. These journals show that years before he promised her his life…he saw her as his forever. This is one of those life time love stories you want to come back and see 50 years from now. Oh the stories they will have to tell and how beautiful their love story will continue to be.

What makes this beautiful gift all the more precious is that Sarah’s gift to Blake was also a journal full of writings from her to him. When hearts are truly connected they know each other even in the silent moments.
