Maison De Tours in St. Martinville was the beautiful backdrop of Britney & Hubert’s gorgeous wedding day. And while the wind did feel like a hurricane blowing through in good ‘ole Louisiana fashion, the celebration continued. The wedding ceremony gave way to the wonderful reception festivities as the dropping temperatures lead to fire pits being lit and those in attendance huddling together for warmth and good laughs. It was a night to remember and an amazing couple whose love just shined who was celebrated by those who love them most.
I think Britney & Hubert’s love was best captured in the words of her sweet cousin who married them on just another Louisiana Saturday night…..but this one was the best one yet in the story of their love.
A Louisiana Love Story
It’s a true Louisiana fairy tale love story. A Saturday night reunion between a country boy from
Loreauville and New Iberia’s finest. It happened in downtown Iberia, and they both
recall that it was love at first shot. Although I wasn’t there I would imagine it looked a
little something like this….Hubert walked into the bar with his best pair of wrangler’s and
boots and they locked eyes just as Britney was preparing a heavy pour behind the bar.
Hubert had his pole out and the hook was baited as he sat at the bar patiently waiting.
Meanwhile, Britney knew just what amount of whiskey to pour to make sure Hubert was
caught hook, line, and sinker. After a couple of late nights at Waffle House, more bottles of wine, chats over some
oysters at Drago’s, and trips to New Orleans to catch the Saints games, their love grew fonder and
Hubert invited her over for a ride on his tractor…..the rest is history. We can forever thank the red solo cups
at Carabela’s as we stand here 5 years later to celebrate the love you found that night.
